On what was to be a fine exploration, a conquest of a wild and undiscovered continent, Captain Joim Greye instead finds himself wrecked and divided from all civilization. The former engineer of Losa, the Black Queen, is removed of his men, his ships and any hope of returning home to Pileaus. Stranded on unknown soil, Greye's only chance is the rumor of a destroyed steam-powered city; his only hope a jungle girl and a mechanical man. Once setting out to conquer, Greye now wanders exiled in the unknown, his path home leading him deeper into the fallen land of Khembrijun.
